Yes, the college has an Internal Quality Assurance Cell. It was established on 17-12-2012. The IQAC meetings take place periodically and the different aspects of quality are discussed and deliberated upon. The decisions taken in meeting are implemented as far as possible. The institution’s policy is to take the issue of quality of the college performance with utmost sincerity.

           The IQAC has given the institution a structured forum to bring up the quality related issues of the college where we discuss them and take decisions regarding them after proper deliberations.

The IQAC has external members. One is the Principal of the lead college Govt. Digvijai PG Autonomous College, Rajnandgaon and one senior faculty member from a different institution, one engineer,  two eminent persons from society. They attend meetings and take part in deliberations and help in taking decisions for the betterment of the institution.

4. How do students and alumni contribute to the effective functioning of the IQAC?

The IQAC has two members of students union and one alumnus as its members. They attend meetings and take part in deliberations.

5. How does the IQAC communicate and engage staff from different constituents of the institution?

The meetings of the IQAC are chaired by the principal. Some of the faculty members are in the IQAC as members. From the administrative staff side, the senior clerk of the office is also a member. All these staff members attend the IQAC meetings. Remaining staff members are communicated about the meeting decisions and instructed by the principal to follow and implement them.

Does the institution have an integrated framework for Quality assurance of the academic and administrative activities? If ‘yes’, give details on its operationalisation.

The constitution of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college functions as an integrated framework for quality assurance of the academic and administrative activities. The principal, as the chairperson of the IQAC, chairs its meetings and guides and motivates the entire staff to be aware and active regarding quality maintenance and enhancement in the college. The principal ensures that the administrative support for the academic activities is available readily. Besides the principal, the senior clerk, who is in-charge of the office work, is also present in its meetings. Thus the academic and administrative sides of the college work in tandem for the maintenance and increase of quality in the college.

Does the institution provide training to its staff for effective implementation of the Quality assurance procedures? If ‘yes’, give details enumerating its impact.

The college does not provide training as such to the staff. But it facilitates the staff to attend training programmes and quality awareness lectures whenever they are organised in nearby colleges, so that they become aware and learn about the need of quality in their performance as units of the college. College organized a Seven day Computer Skill Development Programme for faculty members and office staff.

Does the institution undertake Academic Audit or other external review of the academic provisions? If ‘yes’, how are the outcomes used to improve the institutional activities?

The college  arranges for the  internal academic audit . The recommendations of the auditors are taken up in IQAC meetings.

How are the internal quality assurance mechanisms aligned with the requirements of the relevant external quality assurance agencies/regulatory authorities?

As of now, there is no alignment with the requirements of any external quality assurance agency or regulatory authorities. The college has the Principal of the district lead college as external member of the IQAC. The institution benefits from his advice during meetings of the IQAC.

What institutional mechanisms are in place to continuously review the teaching learning process? Give details of its structure, methodologies of operations and outcome?

  • All the faculty members maintain student attendance and daily teaching diaries which the principal goes through at the end of each month.
  • In the IQAC meetings the principal takes stock of the teaching -learning work through discussion with the teachers.
  • Student feedback system has been introduced since 2013-14.

IQAC organizes meeting with students, faculty, Parents regularly and gets feed back from them.

How does the institution communicate its quality assurance policies, mechanisms and outcomes to the various internal and external stakeholders?

Whenever IQAC meetings are called, the members are informed about the concerned agenda items through letters.

            The decisions of the meetings are communicated through minutes of the meetings.
